What is peach conditioning?Updated a month ago

Conditioning is the process of getting your tree-ripe peach to your desired softness.

For proper conditioning, we recommend you keep your fresh peaches out of the refrigerator after you receive them. Simply admire them on your counter until they reach your desired softness or place them in a paper bag for faster conditioning.

When you pick up your peach, squeeze just a little with your palm. A conditioned peach should give a little (like a ripe avocado, if you're familiar). At that point, the peaches are ready to enjoy. They can stay on your counter a couple more days or keep in the refrigerator for up to a week.

For the best taste possible with refrigerated peaches, let them reach room temperature before you grab your paper towel and take a bite.
